Lesley Woods is a Consultant Research Officer with RNLD. In this role, Lesley is working on the digitisation of Tamsin Donaldson’s Ngiyampaa materials. This project involves scanning and digitising field note books and preparing metadata.
Lesley is Ngiyampaa from western New South Wales. She grew up in and around Ivanhoe and has lived and worked in the Pilbara region of Western Australia for many years. She studied linguistics at the University of New England and Monash University. Lesley has collaborated on Ngiyampaa language work with Tamsin Donaldson, and they co-produced the children's book Minyawaa yathongka. Lesley spent several years working in her own Ngiyampaa community in New South Wales, teaching language classes to community members and at Hillston Central School. More recently, she has been collaborating on a music project with her niece, Krista Pav.
