Anne Poelina
Anne Poelina is a Nyikina Traditional Owner of the Mardoowarra (Lower Fitzroy River). Dr Poelina is the Managing Director of Madjulla Inc., an Indigenous not-for-profit non-government organisation based in a remote Kimberley Aboriginal community.

Experience
Dr Poelina's experience over 30 years includes remote area nursing, academic and community education and training, Australian language maintenance, Indigenous publishing, empowerment evaluation and research consultancy. In the past five years Anne has focused on the establishment of the Nyikina Language and Culture Hub as a strategy for building language and cultural capital. Furthermore her active participation in traditional Aboriginal kinship and cultural associations has grounded her action research into Indigenous economic, social and cultural development in remote Aboriginal communities. This work has focused on building the partnership capacity of Indigenous communities with government, academic, philanthropic and corporate sectors. Dr Poelina is building a corporate model for sustainable development by investing in building the leadership and governance capacity of members of the Nyikina Mangala Aboriginal Corporation. Dr Poelina has been a senior academic responsible for Aboriginal programs at the University of Sydney, Lidcombe and Southern Cross University, Lismore and the University of Queensland (Medical School).
