InField/CoLang Institute on Field Linguistics and Language Documentation

InField Institute on Field Linguistics and Language Documentation/CoLang Institute on Collabora­tive Lan­guage Re­search is an opportunity for linguists, graduate students in linguistics, and native speakers of minority languages to receive training in a range of skills needed to document, maintain, and/or revitalize minority languages.

InField/CoLang offers a two-week session of workshops on a range of topics related to language documentation, maintenance, and revitalization, followed by a four-week session of Field Training, an intensive course similar to a doctoral course on field methods, where students utilize the skills taught in the workshops.

CoLang 2014 will be held at the University of Texas at Arlington from June 16 - July 25, 2014

InField 2012 (CoLang) was held at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas from June 18 - July 27, 2012

InField 2010 was held at the University of Oregon from June 21 - July 30, 2010

InField 2008 was held at the University of California, Santa Barbara from June 23 - August 1 2008
