About us

The Resource Network for Linguistic Diversity is a non-profit organisation which was founded in 2004 to advance the sustainability of indigenous languages. RNLD is a member of the Consortium on Training in Language Documentation and Conservation.ILS logo

RNLD has been funded by the Indigenous Languages Support (ILS) grant scheme since 2009 (administered by the Indigenous Languages, Culture and Repatriation section of the Office for the Arts (OFTA), Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet).

RNLD (Inc.) is incorporated in the State of Victoria, Australia, and is registered as a tax-exempt organisation.

Ethics and Protocols

In our work with Indigenous peoples and organizations, employees of the RNLD recognize the linguistic rights of Aboriginal and Islander communities and adhere to the ethical guidelines and protocols agreed to by the Australian Linguistic Society.
